Dialogue
- Short stool
This series of works is inspired by classical Chinese stone arch bridges and contemporary bridges.
Bridges, as a means of communication to explore unknown territories, facilitate dialogue between known and unknown elements, and are outstanding products of human civilization. The works are crafted from whole natural stones, carved by artisans using both traditional craftsmanship and modern mechanical techniques. The overall form of the works suggests a growing posture, akin to outstretched arms reaching towards a new era of civilization. The works aim to stimulate the viewer's imagination for exploring unknown spaces and to provoke profound reflections on the relationship between nature and civilization, tradition and modernity.
